Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Assistant (HCA) to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to residents within care homes or home care settings. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives by supporting their daily needs and promoting their well-being. The role involves working closely with healthcare professionals to deliver personalised care plans, ensuring residents' comfort, safety, and dignity are maintained at all times.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
• Support residents with daily activities including meal preparation and feeding
• Follow individualised care plans accurately and report any changes in residents’ health or behaviour
• Maintain a clean and safe environment in accordance with health and safety regulations
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare team members to ensure holistic care delivery
• Document care provided accurately using IT systems and ensure records are kept up-to-date
• Support residents’ emotional well-being through friendly interaction and companionship
• Assist with medication administration as directed by healthcare professionals (if qualified)
• Drive or accompany residents on outings or appointments when required

Qualifications

• Previous experience working within a care home or home care environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
• Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal
• Basic IT skills for documentation purposes
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is required for this role due to home visits and/or supporting service users with outings/appointments.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when necessary
• Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in caring for others
• Strong organisational skills to manage multiple residents’ needs efficiently
• We are unable to offer visa sponsorship. Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK.
